Our client is a moving and relocation company looking to recruit a Moving Operations Manager in Chicago, IL. You’ll be responsible for coordinating day-to-day moving operations, making sure jobs are properly scheduled, crews and vehicles are allocated correctly, and moves run according to plan.
Your day-to-day Moving Operations Manager responsibilities will include:
- Planning and coordinating daily residential and commercial moving jobs.
- Scheduling moving crews, drivers and vehicles according to workload.
- Briefing crews on job requirements and making sure they have the information needed before departure.
- Monitoring moves throughout the day and dealing with operational issues as they arise.
- Coordinating with warehouse and office teams to keep jobs and customer move files on track.
- Reviewing upcoming schedules and making adjustments to staffing or resources where required.
- Maintaining clear communication with crews, drivers and customers throughout the moving process.
Our clients are seeking candidates with:
- Previous operations management or supervisory experience within the moving and relocation industry.
- Strong knowledge of moving operations, crew scheduling and job planning.
- Experience coordinating drivers, moving crews and vehicles across multiple jobs.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage changing schedules and priorities.
- Clear communication skills when dealing with crews, customers and internal teams.
