This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the household goods (HHG) business, including operations, dispatch, customer service, employee performance, and branch profitability.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong understanding of residential moving operations and experience managing both field and office teams within a fast-paced environment.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Managing local and interstate household goods moving operations
- Overseeing dispatching, scheduling, routing and move coordination
- Leading movers, drivers, warehouse staff and office personnel
- Monitoring branch performance against revenue and profitability targets
- Working closely with customers to resolve any and all issues
- Supporting sales initiatives and identifying opportunities for business growth
- Managing the company fleet and maintenance planning
- Ensuring compliance with transportation regulations and safety procedures
- Reviewing operational processes and implementing improvements where needed
- Producing reports, forecasts and performance updates for senior management
What We're Looking For
- Applicants should have previous leadership experience within the moving and relocation sector and be comfortable managing multiple operational functions simultaneously.
You'll ideally bring:
- Five or more years of management experience within the moving industry
- Experience overseeing dispatch and field-based teams
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and industry compliance requirements
- Budget management and P&L responsibility
- Strong people management skills
- The ability to make decisions in a fast-moving operational environment
