A premier provider for storage, relocation, and collection management services is seeking a Vice President of Facilities to join its dynamic team. This executive role is central to overseeing secure, climate-controlled environments tailored to the preservation and movement of high-value artworks, archives, and cultural assets. With national oversight, the Vice President will lead a facilities team focused on maintaining impeccable standards across a portfolio of specialised art storage spaces.
This role is fully remote, with up to 1 month travel per year. Ideally the successful candidate will be based in Florida, California or New York.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead a nationwide team managing daily operations across secure art storage facilities, ensuring optimal conditions for fine art and collectible preservation.
- Develop and implement long-term asset strategies, prioritising preventative maintenance and capital improvements that support sensitive environmental requirements.
- Oversee and analyse facility operating and capital budgets to ensure cost efficiency while upholding conservation-grade standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on new facility development and renovation projects tailored to the unique needs of art storage and handling.
- Introduce and manage advanced building systems such as precision climate control, fire/life safety, and state-of-the-art access control technologies.
- Ensure all facilities comply with regulatory guidelines and support broader ESG and sustainability initiatives.
- Review and guide bespoke tenant fit-outs for art galleries, museums, and private collections with occasional direct client interaction.
- Uphold exceptional service standards for internal teams and external clients, including artists, curators, and collectors.
- Set and manage team objectives in line with company-wide performance goals and professional development plans.
- Mentor and develop facilities staff, fostering a collaborative, client-focused work culture.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and ensure ongoing team development.
- Travel periodically to oversee projects and maintain consistent standards across multiple locations.
What We’re Looking For:
- 10+ years of leadership experience in facilities management within multi-site or national operations.
- In-depth knowledge of building engineering, climate control, and preservation-specific infrastructure.
- Budgeting, resource planning, and negotiation expertise, especially in specialist environments.
- Proven ability to manage projects with high attention to detail and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and a solution-oriented leadership style.
- Prior experience in fine art storage, cultural heritage facilities, or the relocation sector is strongly preferred.
