What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead, supervise, and mentor art handlers, including freelance and temporary staff, on day-to-day and large-scale projects.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee complex off-site installations and de-installations, maintaining strict inventory controls.
- Manage third-party contractors including riggers, movers, and fabricators during field operations.
- Conduct site visits to assess project needs including labour, materials, and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal departments, ensuring seamless coordination and exceptional service.
- Establish and maintain best practices for art handling, packing, and installation methods.
- Provide real-time feedback to management regarding team performance and project progress.
- Assist in training and development of art handling staff to ensure consistent standards.
- Step into the Art Handler/Driver role when needed, carrying out duties including transport and physical handling of artworks.
- Ensure safe operation of warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies.
- Maintain accurate and timely reporting for all assigned jobs.
- Uphold company values, safety protocols, and ethical standards on every project.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in art handling, logistics, or relocation services.
- Strong leadership skills with proven experience supervising project teams.
- Excellent communication and multitasking abilities in high-pressure environments.
- Clean driving record with experience operating 24ft box trucks.
- Ability to lift, move, and transport heavy or delicate artworks safely.
- Proficiency with warehouse tools and safety procedures including forklift operation.
